What does it mean to take a cruise with the "charter formula"?
In general, it is a question of renting a sailing boat or a catamaran using the proposals offered by the nautical market.
Among the reasons that drive so many people to choose this type of holiday is the search for a journey outside the mass tourism destinations, reconciliation with nature and its rhythms, the sense of freedom given by contact with the sea and the desire for discovery and adventure.
Indeed, a boat cruise offers the possibility of experiencing the beauty of the sea in a relaxing and fun way, without giving up comfort.
The most used rental formulas are the bare boat , i.e. the bareboat rental of the boat, the crewed boat , i.e. the rental with crew (usually skipper and hostess) and the cabin charter (i.e. the rental of a cabin).
BARE BOAT
Literally means "bareboat": the boat is delivered equipped for cruising but without crew.
This formula is the real rental, aimed at those who already have a boat license and have the necessary experience to sail the boat safely.
Those who choose the bareboat usually leave with family and friends who work to help with the maneuvers on board and always love to explore new destinations.
CREWED BOAT
It is a question of renting a boat with a crew often represented by a skipper, hostess and in some cases a cook.
This type of charter is preferred both by tourists who do not have the knowledge to be able to manage the boat, and by the more experienced boaters, who prefer to relax during their holidays and not deal with the duties of management.
Chartering with crew is also appreciated by new licensees who, taking advantage of the skipper's expertise on board, want to learn to go by boat, perhaps with the intention of buying one.
CABIN CHARTER
Cabin chater requests, i.e. the purchase of a seat in a cabin or the entire cabin for a cruise, have had enormous success in recent years, thanks to the advantage of being able to leave independently or as a couple. In fact, the limit of having to aggregate a group of travel companions is eliminated.
The cruise participants meet on the boat on the day of embarkation and provide for the division of out-of-pocket expenses during the charter.
The boats offered for cabin charter almost always have a private bathroom for each cabin, thus ensuring the necessary privacy.
